It’s believed that the Bears will be in search of an offensive mind to develop quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, which makes Shurmur an obvious and smart candidate.
Shurmur has led a Vikings offense without their starting quarterback and running back. He’s made Case Keenum one of the best quarterbacks in the league this season, so there’s a belief that Shurmur can work his magic on developing Trubisky.
Pace interviewed Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards on Thursday.
The Bears will interview Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Friday evening.
