Press Conference: Mitch Trubisky Previews Bills, Talks Preparation
There are no such thing as “gimme” wins in the NFL. Even when good teams are facing bad teams. Any team can win on any given Sunday.
But it’s hard not to feel confident heading into Sunday’s game as the Chicago Bears (4-3) head into Buffalo to face the hapless Buffalo Bills (2-5). This is a game that the Bears should win. Easily. How do they do that? Simply put: execution.
On the offensive side of the football, the Bears struggled in the first three games with red-zone efficiency scoring touchdowns on 4 of 10 possessions. But in the last four games, they have scored touchdowns 12 of 15 times, or 80 percent.
Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky attributes that success to the team’s preparation and focus during practice leading up to Sundays.
“That’s something we’ve just gotten a lot better at with our mentality, our focus,” Trubisky said. “Then we realize once we get down there, the really good offenses in this league, they take advantage of that and they finish with touchdowns and not settling for field goals. So I think it’s a result of just focus and execution and making the transition from great practices and transitioning it over to the game.”
