Press Conference: Mitch Trubisky Talks Improvement, Previews Lions
The Chicago Bears sit at 5-3 heading into the second half of their 2018 season, and I guess you could say things get real starting this Sunday. The Bears kick off a divisional stretch in their schedule, which includes three straight divisional games against the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. Their first opponent, the Lions, they’ll play twice in 11 days, including on Thanksgiving.
Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky met with reporters on Wednesday to discuss his growth and progress midway through his second season and first in Matt Nagy’s offense. Trubisky said that while there are still things he needs to improve on as a young quarterback, he feels more in command at this halfway point.
“I just feel like I have more command of the offense and command of the huddle, and just feel like I’m a good leader for this offense,” Trubisky said.
“There’s still areas I have to improve within my game and still growing in that, but I feel comfortable and confident with where I am as a leader, with command of this offense, getting in and out of the huddle, seeing things post-snap. I think it’s all starting to slow down.”
